I am a graduate of the Urban Reporting Concentration at Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. I graduated from the Broadcast Journalism Program at Brooklyn College in June, 2016. My passion for journalism from a young age drives me through everything I do. Sleeping with the radio under my pillow is just one of the many crazy things I did growing up in my native Cameroon and dreaming of a career in Journalism. I love politics, entertainment, sports news, local and human-interest stories.
I am a Certified Community Producer at Brooklyn Free Speech TV where my show "Florence: Stories That Matter" airs. The stories also air alongside other stories on my YouTube channel. My news site also publishes multimedia news stories.
In the Summer of 2019, I was politics intern at Inside City Hall at NY1 News. I was also the newsroom intern at NY1 News, and client services intern at ABC NewsOne in the Spring and Fall of 2015.
I’ve been active in the journalism field since 2008 when I started reporting radio stories with Community News Production Institute for WBAI Radio, where I also co-hosted the GMUS Show that discussed issues facing various communities around the country. I’ve produced/reported radio and TV stories on homeless encampments crackdown, MTA fare hikes, domestic violence, housing for Domestic Violence victims, NYC public Schools under Mayoral control, etc.
I’ve interviewed Council Member Rafael Espinal Jr., NYC Civil Court Judge -Sandra Roper, Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Gardian Angels, former NYS Assembly Member – Micah Z. Kellner, Gene Russianoff – Attorney for the Straphangers Campaign, Michael Arena-then CUNY Chancellor’s Director of Communications, and many other inspiring people.
I also have a B.A. in English and a M.A. in the Literatures in English, focusing on Caribbean and West Indian Literatures.
